Sei Young Kim saw her commanding lead shrink dramatically during the third round of the JM Eagle LA Championship. Leading by eight strokes with five holes remaining, she struggled late with four consecutive bogeys but managed to save a two-shot advantage after a 1-under 71, finishing at 15-under overall.
Her late stumble opened the door for challengers, including Hannah Green, Suvichaya Vinijchaitham, Jessica Porvasnik and Ina Yoon, all tied at 13-under. Patty Tavatanakit sits one shot further back.
Kim had been dominant early, building a big lead with multiple birdies, but difficult downwind conditions contributed to her collapse on the back nine. Despite the setback, she remains confident heading into the final round, where a tight group of contenders will challenge for the title.
