Jon Rahm began the PGA Championship on a positive note, posting a one-under par at Aronimink despite the course proving tough for many, including Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau.

After an impressive eagle on the second hole, things seemed smooth for the Spaniard. However, an incident on the seventh hole marred his round. Frustrated by his second shot, Rahm swung his club at the turf, inadvertently sending a divot toward a volunteer.

Addressing the media later, Rahm expressed regret. "My second shot flew long, and I was frustrated," he explained. "Without thinking, I swung, sending a divot that hit a volunteer."

Rahm further emphasized his remorse, eager to make amends with the volunteer affected. "It struck him in the shoulder and face. I couldn't feel worse. I want to find him and offer a gift as an apology for what should have been avoided," the 31-year-old stated.
