The unpredictable nature of golf shone through once again as Jordan Gumberg claimed victory at this week’s Hainan Classic. Holding steady at 19-under at Mission Hills Haikou, Gumberg narrowly outplayed Jorge Campillo by a single stroke, seizing his second DP World title.

Both players were level at the start of the final day, with Gumberg gaining an early birdie but slipping slightly with a bogey on the third hole. The American soon recovered, matching Campillo's moves, especially when the Spaniard stumbled with bogeys at the ninth and tenth.

Gumberg's strategic two-shot on the par-3 11th widened his lead. Despite constant pressure, both held their nerves as pars dominated the final stretch.

A thrilled Gumberg revealed, “It’s unbelievable, this victory is a dream. Reflecting on where I began only makes this win sweeter.”

Young sensation Yanhan Zhou finished T3 at 15-under, along with Marcus Armitage and Adrian Otaegui, while the upcoming Hero Indian Open awaits at DLF Golf & Country Club.
