Eugenio Chacarra moved closer to a successful title defence at the 2026 Hero Indian Open after a second-round 69 left him eight under par, one shot clear of Casey Jarvis. Jarvis fired the round of the week with a 64, featuring nine birdies, to sit second. South Africa’s MJ Daffue was third, two shots off the lead, while first-round leader Freddy Schott slipped to five under after a 73. Chacarra recovered from two early bogeys with an eagle at the 18th and steady back-nine birdies. Play was disrupted by lightning, leaving several players, including Alex Fitzpatrick and Jacob Skov Olesen, unable to finish their rounds. Chacarra is aiming to become the first back-to-back winner since S.S.P. Chawrasia in 2016-17.
